Darts is a popular game that has been around since the 16th century. The rules of darts are simple, but it takes some practice to get good at them. This article will teach you how to play darts and also includes information on different types of dartboard games like 3D darts or other variations as well.
The “darts distance cm” is a rule that applies to many games. It is the distance from the tip of your dart to the board. The “darts distance cm” is also used for calculating other things such as height and weight.

To Play Darts, You’ll Need the Following:
- A dartboard, if you will. Bristle (conventional), electrical, or magnetic are all possibilities.
- Three darts in a set. Each player or team should have a set of three darts to play with. Soft-tipped, steel-tipped, or magnetic darts are available. Depending on the sort of dart board you’re using, you’ll need different types of darts.
- A secure environment in which to play. Make sure no one comes too near to the dart throwing area by strolling or standing too close.
Please note that, although magnetic darts and dartboards are given as alternatives, they are not suggested for anything other than fun, generally with children. Use a bristle or electronic dartboard for any sort of competitive player.
You should also have a tape measure and a level to set the height of the dart board and to indicate the toe line for players.
Dartboard with rules
Because of its similarity to a clock, the normal regulation dartboard is often known as a “clock” dartboard or a “London” dartboard. It features a central bullseye (target) with an inner and outside bull.
It features 20 numbered pieces that resemble pie or pizza slices outside of the bullseye. The dartboard’s numbered segments are all the same size. A narrow outer ring that is the double area surrounds the numbered segments (this area is worth 2x the points). The thin triple region is located in the centre of each numbered section (this area is worth 3x the points).
The standard dartboard has a diameter of 18 inches. The board should be flat against the wall, with the 20 section at the top.
The best dartboards, best darts, best dart flights, best dart cases, best electronic dart scoreboards, and best dartboard surrounds are all reviewed and recommended on this page.
Height of the dartboard
The center of the target on the regulation dart board should be 5 feet 8 inches from the ground.
Toe Line Distance or Regulation Throw Distance (Steel Tip and Soft Tip)
The dart throwing line, toe line, or oche (all of these terms refer to the same thing) has different rules depending on whether you’re using steel tip or soft tip darts.
If you’re using steel tip darts, the front of the dartboard should be 7 feet 9.25 inches. The toe line should be 8 feet from the front of the dartboard if you’re using soft tips darts. You may use tape or chalk to draw a line so the player knows where to stand. In certain tournaments, the player must stand behind a small block of wood. You may also purchase a dart throw toe line marker.
The toe line should have two feet of space on each side of the board so that the standing darts player may throw the darts slightly to the left or right if desired.
Instructions for Hanging
Depending on the dart board you’re using, the hanging or mounting procedure will differ. Many, particularly bristle dart boards, feature a triangular hook at the top that allows them to be hung with a nail. Measure from the center of the bullseye to the location of the hook where the nail will be to acquire the exact height. When you multiply this distance by 5 feet 8 inches, you’ll have the right height for the nail.
Darts are governed by certain rules.
You may play a variety of different darts games and variants. Because the rules of the most popular games are covered in my extensive essay, Darts 101, I won’t go through them all here. You’ll learn how to play, the rules of the various games, and appropriate dart throwing methods in that article.
