The anime industry is ever growing and evolving. With new series coming out every day, it’s hard to keep up with the latest trends. This article highlights 15 of the most underrated anime characters that deserve more love and attention from fans.
The underrated anime characters male is a list of 15 anime characters that deserve more love.
Let’s be honest:
Every anime is, at its heart, a popularity battle.
And occasionally, brilliant characters are pushed to the sidelines by fans or, in some instances, even the creators.
We all love our Levis and Sasukes, of course. However, there are a slew of other fascinating people standing in front of us!
This list is definitely not me compensating for high school, either. But we’ll be taking a look at all those well-written & interesting characters that just really deserve a bit more TLC.
Samurai Champloo is a Japanese anime series.
Despite the fact that Jin is a member of the main cast, he constantly appears to be overlooked.
When the subject of Samurai Champloo comes up, everyone immediately thinks of Mugen and his hip hop combat strategies.
Yes, watching a wild and untethered warrior break down while also destroying your skill is great, but so is seeing a well trained samurai veteran fall down.
In his own world, Jin is a legend. No one can even come close to his sword skills.
Aside from his coolness, he’s also quite funny when he chooses to speak out.
Re: Zero is a Japanese anime series.
In the Re: Zero fanbase, the waifu battles have been going for as long as anybody can remember.
The Emilia supporters have already dug their trenches, while the Rem supporters are steadily throwing grenades their way.
Ram, on the other hand, is just as waifu as they are!
I’m not sure how a tsundere character has gone unnoticed by the anime community.
When people speak about this program, though, I never hear her name mentioned. That’s particularly unfortunate since the second season did a great job of fleshing out her character!
I’m a sucker for a wild card.
Suzuha Amane is 13 years old.
Steins;Gate is a Japanese anime series.
If this character appeared in any other program, and I mean any other show, she would undoubtedly be the most popular.
Suzuha, on the other hand, doesn’t receive nearly the attention she deserves since Okabe and Kurisu are so lovable.
Suzuha is a complete hottie, which is reason one to adore her.
The second reason is because he is a total badass who gets things done.
The greatest aww moments in the second half of the first season are reason three.
She has all of the characteristics of a triple S character, and it’s about time someone say something about it!
Nyanta is number twelve.
Log Horizon is a Japanese anime series.
Nyanta was the last person I expected to like.
A guy can only tolerate so much nya-talk before becoming irritated. And I was afraid Nyanta would be the one to push me over the brink.
But, boy, was I mistaken!
This is one of the most endearing personalities I’ve ever come across.
He has gentlemanly demeanor, a pure gold heart, some insightful words of wisdom, and the most gorgeous outfit.
He was simply written in such a manner that it was always clear how much he cared for everyone, even when he didn’t express it directly.
So disembark off the “evil glasses” train and board the “nya” train!
11. Kotobuki Ichiya Vandalay
Fairy Tail is a Japanese animated television series.
I’ll be honest: I think this guy is the funniest person on the planet.
For me, gag characters are typically on a razor’s edge. But there was something about Ichiya’s antics that drew me in.
I’m not sure whether it’s because of how he looks, how beautifully the voice-actor delivered the phrase, or the fact that he utilizes fragrance magic, but I adore him.
Despite this, I seldom hear people mentioning him or applauding his outstanding scent credentials!
I’m ready to wager that if there hadn’t been a photo, most of you wouldn’t have recognized who I was talking about.
Nadeko Sengoku is number ten.
Monogatari is a Japanese anime series.
I understand that this character was meant to be despised throughout a particular arc, but it doesn’t mean we can’t like and appreciate her overall writing.
Nadeko is a bit of a realist.
She’s inexperienced, naive, and easily deceived.
And the program expertly exploited those elements, both in the build-up to her character’s journey and in its conclusion.
However, everyone usually focuses on the one arc in which she may have intended to murder some individuals.
I’m also guilty of this, but I’ve resolved to alter my ways and spread the word about Nadeko!
Knuckle Bine (nine)
Hunter x Hunter is a Japanese anime series (2011)
I can’t express how much I like this guy’s style.
He not only has the appearance of a JoJo reject, but he also possesses the show’s most intriguing nen ability.
While Gon, the show’s face, simply smacks you in the face, Knuckle is out there educating you about bank loans while kicking your ass!
Even though he didn’t receive quite as much screen time as I would have wanted, he made enough growth over the series to earn some serious love and admiration.
Takajou Takajou Takajou Takajou Takajou Takajou Takajou Takajou Tak
Charlotte, the Anime
Maybe it’s because glasses-wearing, class president characters are so popular these days… However, I believe that everyone has forgotten about this guy.
Joujirou, on the other hand, is simply a more funny “Iida” from My Hero Academia. So I don’t see why I shouldn’t love him just as much!
His ability to make others laugh is hilarious. And you know you’re in for a fantastic time every time he actually explodes into the scene.
Sure, concentrating on the Yuu x Nao connection or Ayumi’s overwhelming cuteness is crucial to the show’s success.
But don’t forget to show some love to my buddy Joujirou.
Lucy Maud Montgomery, no. 7
Bungo Stray Dogs is a Japanese anime series.
An underappreciated author with an underappreciated character.
She simply made for a great evil-ish character since she originally presented such a huge danger but never gave off the feelings of “I’m wicked for the purpose of being bad.”
What’s more, wouldn’t you know it? Her character development does a great job of exploring that idea!
Plus, her power is so unusual that you’d think more people would be paying attention to her.
For the love of God, it’s a haunted playhouse pocket dimension!
Magna Swing, no. 6
Black Clover is a Japanese anime series.
This is a strange one, since I get the impression that Magna is adored, but only when he’s paired with Luck.
When you remove zappy boy away from him, no one appears to care for our good-hearted hooligan, despite the fact that a slew of admirers continue to flock to Luck!
And I’m not sure why that should be the case.
Magna has it all: a unique combat technique, a warm attitude, the coolest motorbike broom in the world, and some stylish sunglasses.
And, to be honest, he nails the “underdog” theme a lot more often and with a lot more force than Asta.
Yuu Takeyama, No. 5
My Hero Academia is an anime series based on the manga My Hero Academia.
This is another case when I was initially a contributor to the issue.
Mount Lady is one of the first people we meet in the series, and she’s shown as a shallow, attention-seeking woman.
However, as the series progresses, I believe it becomes clear that she is, at heart, a genuine hero.
Indeed, if you’ve read the manga, you’ll notice that she’s much more committed to heroism than the bulk of the other characters.
As a result, don’t evaluate a hero based on his or her first appearance.
4. Josuke Higashikata (Josuke Higashikata)
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable is an anime series based on the manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
Maybe it’s just me, but I get the impression that everyone has forgotten about this man.
When JoJo fans get together, they constantly talk about Dio’s brilliance, Jotarou’s coolness, and Joseph’s “wtf” lovability… Josuke, on the other hand, is seldom mentioned.
I understand that all of the other titular JoJo characters are triple S-class popular.
Josuke, on the other hand, is deserving of praise.
He was the most human to me since he lacked the god-like characteristics that all of the other JoJos had.
He’s simply a cool haired guy attempting to stop a mass killing terrorist.
Isn’t it true of all of us on the inside?
Naruto: Shippuden is a Japanese anime series.
The legacy of a character is very important.
And the authors have just bodied Sasori.
Despite his enormous popularity, no one takes this man seriously after the manner in which he was beaten.
Do you have any idea how many memes about him I see on a daily basis? There are far too many!
And that irritates me since Sasori was one of, if not the greatest, designers in the Akatsuki.
His actual form is pure fire, his fighting technique could have provided for some incredible battle scenes, and even his background is much more intriguing than that of some of his peers.
Make a spin-off or something to give Sasori the attention and affection he deserves.
Jean Kirstein is number two.
Attack on Titan is a Japanese anime series.
When it comes to well-written and engaging characters, this program has a lot to offer.
The stage is brimming with talent, from Levi and Mikasa to Erwin and Eren.
So I wasn’t shocked when Jean’s popularity dwindled among fans.
That, however, should not be the case!
I felt like hugging Jean half of the time because he was so personable and real.
And his character development is fantastic, since it never takes any needless risks and instead moves at a natural pace.
We all need to recognize this guy, even if he has a horse face!
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is a Japanese anime series.
Because Simon is the primary character, this one may appear a little strange.
However, if you’ve watched the program, you’ll understand where I’m going with this.
Despite having much more presence, screen time, and growth than Kamina could ever dream for, Simon drowned in Kamina’s shadow.
We actually see this timid young kid grow into a real man, yet all everyone ever speaks about is Kamina’s raw happy macho energy pouring out of her spectacles.
Kamina is, without a doubt, remarkable and iconic.
But it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t check into the person in whom he had the greatest faith.
